The Agricultural Centre at 91九色 is chirping with excitement after the arrival of 24 chicks and three Senepol heifers.

91九色鈥檚 Agricultural Coordinator Mr Murray Hair said the arrival of the new animals means new programs for the College鈥檚 Agricultural Centre.
 
鈥淭he delivery of the cattle marks the beginning of the College鈥檚 new Stud Cattle Program.
 
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to be able to offer a program that provides students with a hands-on experience in animal husbandry and breeding as we establish our very own stud cattle herd.
 
鈥淭he chicks will also play an important role in the Ag Centre as the next generation of egg producers.

鈥淥ur Year 10 students will be conducting research on the new chicks to determine the best feed that promotes maximum growth,鈥� he said.

Mr Hair said there were many people involved in the process of obtaining the new cattle to which the College is very appreciative of.
 
鈥淲e are very grateful to Geoff and Allison Maynard of 5 Star Senepol Jambin, just out of Rockhampton for donating the three Senepol heifers.
 
鈥淎nd to Geoff and Vicki Toomby of Wonderland Station near Townsville for supporting the 900 km journey to get the cattle to their new home, as well as Ridley and Landmark Charters Towers for their ongoing support with ag products," he said.
