Community, Care & Celebration at 91¾ÅÉ«
It’s been a vibrant and positive few weeks across our College community!
Last week’s Thank a First Responder Day was outstanding. It was wonderful to see so many members of our community pass through the College — representing various first response groups – Police, Firefighters, SES, Ambulance. Those who came enjoyed a delicious donut, a coffee and a classic sausage on bread! All given along with a special hand written and coloured message from our primary students. This day was made even more special with a visit from our very own – Poppylillac Gough. Poppy, an ex-student of 91¾ÅÉ«, was the young lady who, as the daughter of a first responder, began the amazing initiative – The Poppy Project – that supports the children of first responders. Visit for more details.
A special thank you to our Senior Hospitality students whose beautiful high tea was a real highlight — not only showcasing great food and service, but also supporting a worthy cause: Brighter Lives Townsville. Another great event thank you to Mrs Trudi Slater and her team of committed and passionate supporters.
91¾ÅÉ« Education Group were also pleased to support Live FM’s 'Come Alive' Appeal, with Townsville once again showing its generosity and raising well above the target for this important annual fundraiser.
I had the pleasure of playing the role of a 'Shark' in our Year 8 Business class Shark Tank, and I thoroughly enjoyed hearing our students’ innovative business proposals. Well done to Mr Turner and all involved!
It delighted me to watch, on Thursday, our beautiful Primary students - all dressed immaculately - 'WOW wonderful walking' to the 91¾ÅÉ« church building for their photographs. I am so proud of their respect and the way they were consistently demonstrating our 91¾ÅÉ« Values. I look forward to seeing the class photos!
Our car park improvements are well underway, and we thank you for feedback and support. A reminder to all families and visitors: please drive 15km/h and take extra care in shared spaces to ensure the safety of our students, their families and staff.
As we look ahead, I’m excited for our upcoming Athletics Carnival — always a great way to close out Term 2 — alongside celebrating academic achievements before we head into a well-deserved break over the winter months.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our College.
Blessings,
Mrs Robyn Hair
